Officers & Stewards

Officers are elected by the membership to run the Local. What does that mean? It means that the Local Officers handle all the public facing business for the Local. If it has to do with relations between the Local and the District or International, or the Local and the public/media, or paying the bills, or the rules governing the membership, that's the Officers job.

Stewards represent you on the floor. What does that mean? It means if you have an issue with Leidos, the stewards are ones in charge of that. Your stewards right now are David Graham (Chief), Kevin Odom, and David Villa

Who do I call?

  • Called into a meeting that could lead to discipline - ask for a steward, right now. Do not go in alone and do not say anything except, "I want to speak with a steward before answering any questions." This includes the extra training meetings. It says right on the form that they have you sign that failure to complete the training satisfactorily can lead to discipline.
  • Contract violation, pay problem, schedule problem - call a steward and they must get you some response within five working days.
  • Meeting minutes, correspondence, Local records, dues status, membership status, transfers, withdrawal cards - the Recording Secretary.
  • Education, training, member benefits, the website and blogs - the Educator/Communicator.
  • Anything else, or you cannot reach anyone above - the President.
